Chaga (polypore or birch mushroom)
The legendary birch mushroom or Chaga in kind. The infusion of Chaga increases the body's defenses, it is recommended for cancer and the gastrointestinal tract diseases.
Chaga is a perennial mushroom of theHymenochaetaceae family appearing on the trunks of many deciduous trees: birch, alder, mountain ash, beech, elm, maple. But only Chaga, grown on birches, has the healing properties. Chaga is found in Russia, Eastern Europe, Korea, in the northern U.S., in the mountains of North Carolina - wherever birch grows.
Fruiting body of chaga consists of large, solid tumors nodule-shaped outgrowths. From above they are black or dark brown, close to the wood they are soft and light. The mushroom grows on the damaged sections of tree bark, sometimes reaching impressive size and weight of 3-5 pounds. The inner part of the fungus is woody, yellowish-brown, with lots of bright streaks. In medicinal purposes both fresh and dried mushroom can be used.
In folk medicine amazing properties of the mushroom were noticed and appreciated long time ago. The Russian annals of 11th century tell how lips of Grand Prince Vladimir Monomakh were healed from cancer with the decoction of chaga.
Later, in the 16th century. inhabitants of Siberia used chaga as a remedy of many serious illnesses and diseases. Diseases of the stomach and intestine, lung cancer, abscesses and boils were treated with a birch mushroom, aching joints were rubbed with decoction of herbs with chaga. Oriental medicine also left evidence of the healing properties of the chaga - Abu Ali Ibn Sina (Avicenna) described it in his works.
In 1858, the doctor E. Froben described the serious case cancer of the parotid gland cured with decoction of chaga. A similar observation belongs to A. Frucht - in 1862 he observed recovery from the lip tumor that extended to the submaxillary gland with decoction of chaga. Subsequently, it was observed that Chaga slowed tumor growth in many patients.
Shortly afterwards, the properties of the chaga interested doctors of conventional medicine. In 1864, the birch mushroom was studied by George Lyudvigovich Dragendorf, professor of pharmacy at the University of Derpt. He did not find any specific substances, which in his opinion, could cure cancer.
In the 20th century on the basis of chaga pharmaceuticals were begun to be created, in spite of its insufficient level of knowledge. They showed good practical action, although its mechanism is not clear even today. In modern medicine, ready extract of chaga - 'Befungin' - is actively used. But it contains a certain amount of alcohol, and therefore may not always be used. In addition, folk healers consider freshly made decoctions from chaga more effective.
In the 1970's. the researches were conducted in the 1st Leningrad Medical Institute n.a. Pavlov. It was found that Chaga promotes redox processes in the tissues, takes restorative and tonic effect on the central nervous system. Among the effects of the use of chaga are removal of acute condition of disease of gastrointestinal tract, increasing production of digestive juices.
It was also established that the Chaga increases the protective reactions of the body, activates metabolism in brain tissue, reduces arterial and venous pressure. It has anti-inflammatory effect not only in ingestion but also in external application.
The chemical composition of the chaga is poorly studied. It is known that the fruiting body of the mushroom contains a set of active substances: chromogenic poly-phenol-carbonic complex, humic chaga and agaricic acid, dyes and resinous substances, triterpenoid, inotodiol. There are polysaccharides, organic acids, a small amount of alkaloids, sodium, potassium and a significant amount of manganese in chaga.
It is known that the composition of the chaga contains biologically active substances that stimulate the body's defenses. Thanks to this, people copes with their disease on their own. Therefore we can not say that Chaga treats - it works quite differently: it helps the body to gain strength and overcome the disease. Due to this universal action, Chaga is useful in a variety of diseases.
In many villages of Siberia and the Far North-dried chaga is use instead of tea - and not from time to time, but continually. In these areas people differ due to their good health, rarely getting sick and getting cold. It is noticed that the tea from chaga regains strength, invigorates, and restores healthy appetite.
Official medicine drew attention to chaga long ago. The most notable chaga’s property is to delay tumor growth and metastasis formation. With cancer Chaga helps to relieve pain and improves human well-being.
It is often recommended for cancer - Chaga retards the development of tumors, reduces the risk of metastases, eases the pain. That is why it is often used after a course of chemotherapy, radiation therapy. Chaga is not a radical treatment remedy for cancer, but it can greatly increase the chances of a cure or delay disease progression.
The result of application of chaga for treatment of cancer largely depends on the initial state of the patient and duration of treatment. Usually, the first results appear within 1-4 weeks, except for the most severe cases – the patients noticeably feel better.
The second positive stage is significantly delayed in time, the effect of the chaga accumulates gradually. Often tumor slows down its growth, decreasing in size, slowing the spread of cancer cells throughout the body. Long-term treatment with chaga helps to increase the life duration of the person with severe stages of cancer.
Chaga is very helpful for the digestive tract, it reduces inflammation of the mucous membranes of stomach and intestines. The infusion of chaga is useful in chronic gastritis with decreased secretion of gastric juice, gastric ulcer and polyps in the stomach and intestines.
A separate sample of the chaga grows for a long time, sometimes up to 10-20 years. Over time, Chaga 'takes' vitality of the tree and causes its death. After the death of the tree chaga development stops, and soon on the opposite side of the trunk fruiting body of the mushroom in the form of comblike outgrowthes of dark-brown color becomes visible. Due to them, spores appear that fall through the air on the new 'place of residence.'
In order to achieve the expressed health-improving action chaga from the ecologically clean regions is better for use. The collection of chaga from the Gorny Altai is ideal - here the plants are filled with the strength among the taiga air, mountain streams and crystal clear springs.
As a result the Altaic Chaga does not to contain harmful substances. Because Altai is one of the few regions of our planet, which has remained virtually untouched by civilization, and therefore it preserved its pristine nature and its healing powers.
Procurement of raw materials for the collection is carried out only under the supervision of environmental experts. Before going on sale, Chaga is a mandatory tested for radiation - and therefore, your body will only benefit from it. This is not a chemical extract of the chaga, and natural materials in their original form.
